Fishing Dorset.

My name is Richard and I have been fishing for over thiry years. Some might say I was born with a fishing rod in my hand. I have fished my way through chalk stream trout to beach fishing for cod, and of course living so close to Weymouth, one of the largest charter boat fleets in England I have to fish a few charter boat trips a year. I have had the pleasure of bass fishing in France to fishing the Atlantic surf of Co. Clare, Eire. My fascination continues with the sea and the casting of plastic trying to fool the fish to attack my plastic lures.

I would almost say that I have an addiction, to try and build the ultimate plugging rod. Everyones choice of plugger will most probably be different, whether for open sea or into rough water from the rocks.

The summer sees me heading not only onto the coast but in land for carp from the surface. Stalk the fish get it to feed and hang on! I started surface fishing for carp when I first joined my local angling club and was lucky enough to have two lakes behind where I lived. Bubble float and a crusty loaf...Carp on!

The winter sees the return to the river in the hunt for chub, again the loaf of bread and lob worms on the tip would have to be my favourite way of fishing for them.

I find it hard just to say that I only fish for one species, I fish...Sea, Coarse or Game, I love fishing!

I have a great passion for angling and associated aspects of our great sport. I can never pass a stretch of river or coast line without wondering what fish lay beneath. I have fished the coast of Dorset for almost 25 years, rivers and lakes alike. Trout to carp or bass from the surf, each section of angling with it's own tools of the trade. Lying at the roots of fishing is the rod, humble in it's making from the days of cane to modern design and technology used today  to give us the most up to date materials.

I only use top quality materials in the build or repair of fishing rods, products that I can rely on  and trust to do the job intended. From the brands of Pacific Bay to Fuji. Blanks from Harrisons to Cono-flex. Depending on your requirements my ultimate aim is to give you that personal experience in a rod of your choice.
